1. What the program is
RightStep Group designs and builds landing pages for businesses in the United States, many of them Latino-owned. Most of our clients come to us because someone they trust told them about us. This program pays the people who do that.
You get a personal link and a code. When a business reaches us through them and signs a contract, the referral is yours. A visit or a message is not enough on its own: what counts is a signed contract.
2. Who it is for
- Our clients. You already know how we work, so you can tell another business owner what it was like.
- Partners. Accountants, insurance agents, immigration offices, real estate agents, printers and other agencies whose clients also need a website.
- Affiliates and creators. People with a page, a channel or a community where business owners gather.
Anyone can recommend us without joining. To be paid, you need to be in the program before the referral reaches us.
3. How it works
- Apply with the form on this page. We reply by email, agree your commission with you in writing and ask for your tax form.
- We send you your personal link, a short code and a QR code you can print on cards or put up in your office.
- Share it. When someone opens your link, their browser keeps your code for 90 days. If they write to us another way, they can type your code or your name in our contact form.
- When the business you referred signs a contract and makes its first payment, we pay your commission.
4. What counts and what does not
A referral counts when:
- the business reached us through your link or code, or named you in our form, within 90 days;
- it was not already talking to us and was not already a client;
- it signs a contract for a project and makes its first payment.
A referral does not count when:
- you refer yourself or a business you own;
- the business was already a lead or a client of ours before your referral (we check by email);
- it came from an ad that bids on the RightStep Group name or uses it in the ad;
- it came from spam: bulk email, messages or comments nobody asked for, or bought contact lists.
If two people refer the same business, the first code we recorded wins. If there is a clear mistake, we can correct it by hand.
5. Say that you earn a commission
US law requires you to say clearly that we pay you when you recommend us (FTC rules on endorsements). Put it next to your link, in words people see before they click. For example:
- “#ad” at the start of a post;
- “I earn a commission if you hire them.”
- “RightStep pays me if you sign with them.”
A disclosure that is only in your profile, behind a “more” button or buried in a list of hashtags does not count. Only say things about our work that you know are true.
6. Taxes and payment
We pay commissions in money, to you or to your business, once a month. Before the first payment we ask for:
- Form W-9 if you are in the United States. When what we pay you in a year reaches the IRS reporting threshold, we send you Form 1099-NEC.
- Form W-8BEN if you live outside the United States.
You are responsible for the taxes on what you earn. Joining the program does not make you our employee or our agent.
7. Changes to the program
We can change or end the program by publishing the new terms on this page. Referrals that already qualified are paid under the terms that applied when they reached us. Questions: write to [email protected].
